I chose to read this book because I absolutely LOVE author Nicole Edwards and I was provided with a copy for review.
I'm generally not a fan of novellas/short stories, but I didn't hesitate to pick this up. I knew it would be amazing because Nicole Edwards is an exceptional writer. Boots Optional rocked my boots from start to finish and left me pining away for the next book!
As always, the writing is perfection, I've come to expect nothing less from author Nicole Edwards. She is always thorough and consistent. The characters are well developed and we really get to know them throughout the book.
The word "hot" doesn't aptly describe Boots Optional, because Nicole Edwards has a way of portraying what the characters are experiencing on a deeper level leaving you completely immersed in it all. Many readers will tell you that the FSOG trilogy completely broadened their literary horizons and opened up a world of different and risque genres for them. While that remains true for me, author Nicole Edwards took that a step further in my opinion. She introduces us to even more "non-traditional" relationships and gives the reader a unique perspective of it all. I never ventured to read anything besides M/F before I picked up Nicole's Alluring Indulgence series. Once I did that and experienced reading M/F/M, M/M/F, and then eventually M/M, I loved all of them! I don't believe it was the actual relationship dynamic/status that did it for me either. It was 100% Nicole Edwards writing and the way she evokes so many different emotions and ways of thinking and feeling. This author is phenomenal without a doubt!
I would and do recommend this novella as well as any and all work by Nicole Edwards to any and everyone I have the chance to! If you're looking for something a bit or a lot outside the box with a big dose of crazy sexy cowboys, this is the author you MUST READ!
